Bichectomy

Bichectomy

What is Bichectomy (Cheek fat reduction) ?
Bichectomy, which provides a better appearance of the face, is also known as cheek surgery. With the bichectomy operation, more prominent cheekbones and a thinner facial line can be obtained. While bichectomy makes the face appear longer and thinner, it also helps to eliminate the rounded appearance of the face. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in clinical conditions. It takes an average of 1 hour. First, the mouth is cleaned. Then, a small incision is made on the cheek wall through the mouth and excess fat tissue is removed from here. The incision is then sutured. The patient is discharged on the same day. There is no scar after the procedure.

Who can have Bichectomy (Cheek fat reduction)treatment done?
Bichectomy operation can be applied to men and women over the age of 18 with normal weight and a round face. It is not recommended for people with obesity and patients over the age of 45. However, as there may be exceptions, a pre-operative doctor's examination is the healthiest. Apart from this, if the patients have a history of chronic illness or regular drug use, they should inform their doctor about this beforehand.

Post-operative procedure
In the first days after the operation, there may be swelling, pain and bruising. These will go away on their own within a few days and the painkillers that the doctor will prescribe will help reduce the pain. It is recommended that the patient consume soft and liquid foods for the first 3 days after the operation. Cold compress application is helpful and recommended. The patient can return to his daily life in 3-5 days on average.
