breast augmentation

What is breast augmentation?
In some women, breast sizes are structurally small or there may be asymmetry between the breasts. Some women may not have a breast tissue congenitally. Breast augmentation surgery is a surgical operation performed to enlarge or equalize breast volumes. The most valid method used today for breast augmentation is silicone prostheses. It is also possible to use one's own fat tissue in breast augmentation, but the success and permanence of this method may not be as satisfactory as silicone prostheses.
Breast augmentation surgeries are performed in a hospital environment and under general anesthesia. It is a short surgery that takes an average of one to two hours. A small incision of 4-5 cm is made to place the prosthesis. This incision can be made under the breast, nipple or armpit area. Generally, under the breast is preferred, but your doctor will determine the most suitable area for you. The breast prosthesis is placed under the breast tissue or muscle from the incision site. Your doctor also decides the suitability of this area according to your body structure. After the prosthesis is placed, the incision is closed by suturing. The patient is usually discharged from the hospital on the same day if there is no problem.
