breast lifting

What is breast lifting?
The breast, which has an important share in the aesthetic appearance, can sag due to reasons such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight gain and loss, as well as time. Breast tissue softens, loses its shape and sags. People with large breasts experience sagging at an earlier age. Under normal conditions, the nipple should be above the breast fold line, whereas in sagging breasts, the nipple is at the fold level. In advanced cases, the nipple is under the breast fold.
Thanks to the breast lift surgery performed to restore the sagging breasts to an upright appearance, the nipples are moved to the required position, the breast tissue is shaped, and the excess skin is removed. In case the breasts are too large, excess breast tissue can be removed, and people with small breast structures may need to be lifted together with silicone prosthesis application.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia in hospital conditions and takes an average of 2-3 hours depending on breast size. An incision is made in the form of an inverted T letter from the nipple and excess breast tissue, fat and skin are removed from this incision. Then these incisions are closed with aesthetic sutures. The scars, which are visible after the operation, become indistinct by taking the skin color within 3-4 months after the operation.

Who can have breast lifting treatment done?
Breast lift surgeries can be applied to people with sagging or asymmetry in their breasts. If the patient is planning to lose weight, it is more appropriate to perform the surgery after the weight loss process is completed. It is not recommended to be done during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Apart from this, if the patients have a history of chronic illness or regular drug use, they should inform their doctor about this beforehand.

Post-operative process
It is normal to have pain, swelling and bruising for a few days after the surgery. In the first days after surgery, patients may have difficulty raising their arms. However, they are expected to return to their daily life in 5-7 days on average. In order to the breasts to take the desired shape, you must wear a special bra given by your doctor for the first month. Not smoking during the healing process accelerates the healing process. Using painkillers and antibiotics that will be prescribed for you by your doctor also facilitates your healing process.
