What is breast reduction?
Breast reduction surgery is a surgical operation to reduce breasts that are larger than desired. By reason of breasts are too large, patients are disturbed not only in appearance, but also felt problems such as back pain, nappy rash formation and increasing the risk of cancer. Therefore, it is a method that has been used quite frequently recently. With the operation, the breasts become smaller and lifted.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia in hospital conditions and takes an average of 2-3 hours depending on breast size. An incision is made in the form of an inverted T letter from the nipple and excess breast tissue, fat and skin are removed from this incision. Then these incisions are closed with aesthetic sutures. The scars, which are visible after the operation, become indistinct by taking the skin color within 3-4 months after the operation.

Who can have breast reduction treatment done?
Breast reduction surgery can be applied to people who are uncomfortable with the size of their breasts, who have waist, back and shoulder pain due to this reason, and who want their breasts to be smaller. It is not recommended to be done during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Apart from this, if the patients have a history of chronic illness, regular drug use, they should inform their doctor about this beforehand.

Post-operative process
It is normal to have pain, swelling and bruising for a few days after the surgery. In the first days after surgery, patients may have difficulty raising their arms. However, they are expected to return to their daily life in 5-7 days on average. In order to the breasts to take the desired shape, you must wear a special bra given by your doctor for the first month. Not smoking during the healing process accelerates the healing process. Using painkillers and antibiotics that will be prescribed for you by your doctor also facilitates your healing process.
