What is Prominent Ear Aesthetics (Otoplasty)?
It is the process of reshaping the auricle and making it more natural and aesthetic. Otoplasty technique is performed under general or local anesthesia. The average operation time varies between 1-2 hours. With an incision made behind the ear, the shape desired to be given to the ear is made with some suture techniques. In severe cases, cartilage excision may be required, and a natural aesthetic ear is tried to be obtained. After the surgery, the incision behind the ear is closed with stitches. There may be an inconspicuous scar as it is behind the ear.

Otoplasty can be done to anyone who is not satisfied with the shape of the ear. It is recommended that patients use bandages for 7-10 days after surgery. There is no physical obstacle for the patient to return to his daily routine after 3-5 days, but he/she should not remove the bandages during this process.It is normal to have swelling, bruising and pain in the application area in the first days. These will go away on their own within a few days and the painkillers that the doctor will prescribe will help reduce the pain.
