What is thigh lift?
The loosening of the skin in the thigh area due to factors such as excessive weight loss or old age causes the area to sag. Thigh lift operation is performed by removing excess fat and skin from the thigh area. While liposuction is applied to reduce excess fat in the thigh area, stretching is performed to remove the loosened skin in the area.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia in hospital conditions. In the area where the excess skin is removed, there is a line-shaped suture scar. This scar will not disappear completely but will become less visible over time. In addition, thigh lift surgery can be performed simultaneously with other surgeries, if the doctor deems it appropriate.
Who can have thigh lift treatment done?
Thigh lift surgery can be applied to people who have lost excess weight or who have sagging in the area due to aging. Necessary tests are performed before the operation and the health status of the patient is checked. If there is any chronic disease or regular drug use, the patient should tell the doctor before the operation.
Patients are usually discharged from the hospital the same day or the day after unless there is a complication. Pain may be felt in the first days, but the process is easily overcome with painkillers prescribed by the doctor. It is recommended that the patient rest for the first week. In the second week, the patient can return to his/her routine life, but he/she should avoid heavy exercises. It is recommended not to smoke to accelerate the healing process.
