What is No-Touch Laser?
PRK, LASEK, and TransPRK (collectively known as surface ablation or no-touch laser) remove or lift the corneal epithelium before an excimer laser reshapes the underlying tissue. No flap is created. This preserves more corneal integrity and eliminates flap-related risks, making it the preferred choice for patients with thinner corneas, significant dry eye, or occupations involving contact sports or physical impact.
Recovery takes longer than LASIK — vision stabilises over two to four weeks and initial discomfort is expected for three to five days. The long-term visual outcome is equivalent to LASIK for suitable prescriptions. All procedures are carried out at Ministry of Health–approved partner facilities. Your coordinator confirms the clinical team, hospital, and travel schedule in writing before you commit.
